How to use a spirit board
The board should be used by at least two people and should be in easy reach of all sitters. The sitters place their fingers lightly on the pointer, being careful not to push down too hard. The sitters should invite a willing spirit to come and talk to them. One question should be asked at a time by just one of the sitters. The questions should be asked in a slow deliberate manner. The sitters should permit the pointer to move of its own accord over the letters and numbers and it will stop every now and then with the center over the letter or number that spells out the answer to your question. When you have finished your session ask the spirit politely to leave. Do not leave the pointer on the board when the board is not in use.
Rules of the Spirit Board

Don’t let the pointer fall from the board as it will set the spirit lose.
